SHERMAN, TX - The City of Sherman will soon get better roads thanks to the recent approval of a one-eighth percent sales tax.

The four-year tax passed with 89 percent of the vote. City officials say the tax generates $1 million for street maintainable, which means over the next few years crews will redo existing roads by filling potholes and putting new asphalt on streets around Sherman.
