SHERMAN, TX -- A fight over drugs ends in gunshots.

Police say 19-year-old Damian Doty was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a scuffle at Diamond place apartments.

They say during the argument between Doty and 28-year-old Walter Malgar, the two struggled for a gun.

Officers say several shots were fired and Doty pistol-whipped Malgar on the back of the head.

They say they followed Malgar's blood trail to Doty's apartment.

"Sherman Police have been actively patrolling this complex due to numerous incidents that have occurred over the past several months," said Sergeant Bruce Dawsey with the Sherman Police Department.

Malgar had to be flown to a Dallas hospital. Police say Doty was arrested and taken to the Grayson County jail.
