SILO, OK -- Law Enforcement hopes a mock car accident they simulated Friday morning will scare local students straight.

Silo's High School Principal, Mike Palmer, says 47 of his students over the past 30 years have died and he does not want to bury another one.

Since the Silo prom will be held out of town this year, Palmer said, now is the time to make sure students know the dangers of drinking and driving, as well as distracted driving.

OHP and several volunteer fire departments teamed up with the high school simulating a drunk driving crash, with student actors posing as victims.

"When they're so young 15, 16, 17, 18 years old, and we're losing kids, it's just heartbreaking." said Balner.

Silo's prom is Saturday, April 21st.
