DICKSON, OK - Some Oklahoma students are getting an unexpected extended summer break. The start of school is delayed until September 6 for all Dickson Public Schools.
Superintendent Sherry Howe says it's because of problems with construction on the high school's air conditioning and heating system. Temporary individual A/C units have been ordered for each classroom, but the truck they are on broke down on its way from Chicago.
Howe says she is not sure when the new A/C and heating will be complete, but hopefully it won't take longer than a month.
