State representative Pat Ownbey to run for re-election

ARDMORE, OK -- Oklahoma state representative, Pat Ownbey, announced this afternoon that he plans to run for re-election this year.
Ownbey currently represents House District 48. He serves on the leadership team of House Speaker Jeff Hickman and as chair of the Appropriations and Budget Subcommittee on Human Services. He is the author of a bill this year to help resolve problems between foster parents and DHS workers.
Ownbey is the co-author of legislation to give teachers a $2,000 pay raise and said he will support efforts to increase state aid to education.
Ownbey is also the author of a bill to ban the use of e-cigarettes by minors and a bill to make prescription drugs subject to trafficking laws.
This year's election will take place Nov. 4th.
