Sulphur hosts annual Veteran's Day Parade

SULPHUR, OK -- Many Sulphur residents took time out of their day today to honor and celebrate local veterans.

Today the city of Sulphur hosted its annual Veteran's Day Parade down Broadway Avenue.

The parade featured a 21 gun salute, and dozens of floats featuring many veterans and servicemen and women.

Sulphur schools also stopped class for a short period to let their students enjoy the parade.

Students say they've been learning about Veteran's Day in class, and it's important to show their support.

"We get to celebrate our veterans," said third grader, Grady Patterson.
Another third grader, Abby Sanders said, "It's important because we get to celebrate what the veterans did for us and how our life is today."

The third grade class at Sulphur Elementary School also performed a Veteran's Day program prior to the parade.
