BELLS, TX - Fire officials in Bells are investigating the 2nd suspicious fire in the area in the last 3 days.

This one started around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon in the 800 block of highway 56. Firefighters say they got the call when someone saw flames and smoke coming from behind a house. They quickly put out the small patch of brush that was burning, but don't know what sparked the flames. There is a set of train tracks nearby, but firefighters say no trains have come through for days.

They think this fire may have been set.

"Yeah you know we've had a few here in town that have been out in the middle of nowhere," said Lt. Kendall Washburn, Bells volunteer fire department. "You know, no power lines. There's nothing out there. Just plain field and they catch on fire. So, there's something behind it you know."

If you have any information about this fire, you're urged to call bells fire or police.
