BELLS, TX -- Leaders from Grayson, Fannin and Cooke Counties recognized some upstanding citizens Wednesday.

The Texoma Council of Governments not only held their annual board meeting, they also named their citizen of the year.

School districts, economic development groups, city officials, and other local agencies were there for Wednesday's annual luncheon.

Executive Director Susan Thomas says this is TCOG's opportunity to thank their partners.

"But we like to not be that business-oriented about it and really turn it into a celebration and get all of our partners at the table and recognize their accomplishments, recognize the achievements of individuals," said Thomas.

This year's citizen of the year was Mike Connors, who repairs old bicycles for children in need.
