DENISON, TX - It runs 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday every week until October 28th.
Both the flu shot and flu mist are available. The mist is only for children age two and older.
Parents do have to make an appointment but the wait time is very short, and a nurse is set up specifically for children's flu shots.
Dr. Jody Lipscomb, a pediatrician at TMC, said children don't react to the vaccine the same way adults do. "Adults tend to have muscle aches and flu like symptoms on occasion with their flu vaccines. But kids don't really respond that way to their flu vaccines because they've never really seen the flu before."
Lipscomb said they give pediatric doses of the flu shot as young as six months old. The flu shot lasts about four months, and the flu mist lasts up to nine months.
