PARIS, TX -- The wheels are in motion for the city of Paris to get a fixed bus route service.
Recent outreach by the public to TRAX and the Ark-Tex Council of Governments have been heard.
"There's no question that there's been a lot of vocal people who have been wanting this service and for TRAX and for Ark-Tex its basically just been a matter of when the funding when will be available," said consultant for Ark-Tex Council of Governments Ken Hosen.
Next week, there is a public bus service design workshop, intended to reach out to residents and determine where the bus routes would be most valuable to the citizens of Paris.
Ark-Tex is hoping to implement the routes within six months to a year. The proposed name for the bus service is ParisMetro, named after the metro service in Paris, France.
The meeting is set to for 2 p.m. next Wednesday in the Paris Regional Medical Center cafeteria.
