SHERMAN, TX -- The Texas Education Agency has released new ratings for school districts and charter schools across the state.
They're judged on a three tier scale -- either they've met standard, met alternative standard or improvement is required.
93 percent of districts statewide achieved the highest rating, but three districts in Texoma received the lowest ranking.
Those three are Honey Grove, Whitewright and Roxton ISDs. Improvement is required at these three districts.
The new ratings are based on a revised system that uses indicators such as student achievement, progress, closing performance gaps and more.
