53 year old Robert McInchak could face up to life in prison.
His trial is set to begin April 16th.

District Attorney Joe Brown tells us McInchak is claiming self defense.
He's charged in the shooting death of 58 year old Shellman Smith, Jr.
Prosecutors say, last April, Smith had his dog with him during a round of golf at the Denison Country Club.
They say when the dog wandered into McInchak's yard the two men got into an argument and McInchak shot the dog then Smith with a 22-caliber rifle.
