Third graders at Turner Elementary school in Burneyville learned about drug prevention today.
Two local officers attended and brought along their crime-fighting dog.
Deputy, Johnny Denney, says the importance goes beyond teaching children about the dangers of drugs...
"I don't want kids to be scared of the cops. I want them to come to us if they need help and that's what we're trying to do. Build a relationship. "
Local nurses also attended, who spoke to the kids about the consequences of abusing prescription medication.
