PARIS, TX -- Tax season is upon us and a non=profit organization in Paris is offering free tax preparation.
For the sixth year the United Way of Lamar County will have volunteers at Oak Park United Methodist Church to help residents prepare their taxes. The walk-in service will begin this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will continue every Saturday until March 8th.
Last year they completed 150-returns, bringing over $200,000 back to residents.
"The purpose is to get everybody the tax credits that they have earned, so it's to bring more money back into people's pockets," said United Way Executive Director April Carl.
You will need a valid driver's license or other photo I.D., social security card, birth dates for all persons listed on return, all income statements, all records of expenses, copies of last year's state and federal tax returns, bank routing numbers and account numbers to direct deposit any refund and dependent child care information.
