Hollywood, CA -- Tis' not the season for movie-goers, with the lowest dip in box office attendance in sixteen years.
Despite low numbers, Holmes and Watson found themselves at the top of the box office this weekend. "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" raked in 40-million dollars.
"Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" landed in second place with 23.5 million dollars.
"Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" came in third with 13-million in ticket sales.
Coming in fourth, "New Year's Eve" rings in with just over 7-million dollars.
