School trips resume as H1N1 concerns dwindle

GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- The H1N1 influenza shut down some North Texas schools. While no Texoma schools were closed, University Interscholastic League did cancel some games, but now they're back in play, and so are field trips for other extracurricular activities.

The UIL rescheduled games for about two weeks as a safety precaution. They announced Wednesday that events will resume today. Both Sherman and Denison are ready to get back in the game, and students can now take field trips out of the district as well.

"Since we were given the go ahead to open up that travel, we felt as of Friday this week we are going to resume travel within the district and outside the district," Denison ISD superintendent Dr. Henry Scott said.

The next UIL game in our area is baseball tomorrow at 6 p.m. between Denison and Sherman.
