BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- Bryan County has received about 600 doses of the influenza A--or H-1-N-1--vaccine.
Rhonda Dennis with the Bryan County Health Department says they'll take roughly 300 of those vaccines to Washington Irving ad Robert E. Lee Elementary Schools in Durant first. The remaining vaccines will be given on a priority basis from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. Thursday while they last.
Recipients must fall under one of these four categories:
1. School aged children, pre-K through 12th grade
2. Children 6 months to 18 years w chronic medical condition
3. Pregnant women
4. Frontline heath care workers who work with acutely ill patients
The vaccinations are at no cost, but children will need a consent form filled out by a parent.
Officials say recipients do not have to be Bryan County residents, and that their shipment includes both the injectable and the FluMist nasal vaccines.
Vaccinations will also be given at Madill Schools on Thursday at 3 p.m.
