After a popular TV anchorwoman in Little Rock, Arkansas, was beaten in her home and left in critical condition, we talk about safety in your own home in today’s Safe Family report.
Events like this happen every day to young women, and sometimes even men. In today's Safe Family report, we discuss protecting yourself from becoming the victim in your own home.
It just takes one second for a bad situation to become even worse, but there are things you can do.
First of all be aware of your surroundings. Always have light on such as a small light inside your home or maybe a porch light on the outside.
If you do own a weapon, make sure you know how to use it properly.
"You want to try and get the situation resolved with as little conflict as you can. When people come in like that, they are usually wanting something like that, if they are wanting something, like to take property, your car, just give it to them," Lt. Mike Eppler of the Denison Police Department says.
