Safe Family: Swine flu

Most everyone is concerned about contracting the swine flu, but doctors say there is little reason to panic. Here’s our Safe Family report.

So far the cases in the United States have been mild, but health experts are warning everyone to take precautions. The most important step is to wash your hands with warm soapy water regularly and take common precautions.

Just like any other flu-like illnesses, the swine flu is spread through close contact with an infected person.

"If individuals develop more serious illness such as difficulty breathing, are unable to drink, having changed their state of alertness, then its' very important that they seek medical attention," Dr. Nathan Litman at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore says.

Keep in mind the normal flu vaccine is not effective against the swine flu.

The swine flu is a combination of the human flu, the bird flu, and the swine flu. Some think it is concocted by humans. You can't get it from pigs or birds...just humans. Are you un-confused now? If not...GOOGLE it! Oh, and it's kind of like the regular flu but it's now a Pandemic stage 5! Another type of terrorism if you ask me.

I am confused about the swine flu. Noble scientist say it is not from pigs. But every news piece on swine flu shows pigs. What's up? If it isn't caused from pigs then why show pigs?
