Safe Family - Cold Weather and Pets

The weather has gotten much colder over the last couple of days... and while we may be cuddled up by the fire we need to keep our furry friends warm as well.
In todays safe family report we'll let you in on a few tips to keep your pets safe in colder weather.
first ...if you have a cat.... Keep your cat inside.
The freezing temperatures are dangerous for smaller animals.
If it is snowy our icy out don't let your dog off of their leash... They are more likely to become lost in these conditions.
If you own a pet with short hair you should try a jacket or sweater to help keep their body temperature up.
planning on a new puppy for Christmas... Be careful.... Puppies tend not to tolerate the cold well... If you are trying to house break one... try paper training them.
Dogs that spend a lot of time outside may need more food to keep them and their fur in the best shape
Finally the most important thing is to make sure your furry little loved one has a nice warm place to sleep away from all drafts.
