With temperatures dropping... the roads can become a major hazard when storms roll through the area...
In todays safe family report we have few tips to make your winter travels a little safer.
Be sure you are paying attention to weather broadcasts so that you are aware of when severe weather could be on the way.
Also you can keep your gas tank full to avoid ice in the tank or fuel lines.
When driving on icy roads... Drive slowly and leave more space between you and the car in front of you.
You should always keep an emergency kit in your car... But during the winter months it can be even more important.
Stock your kit with the essentials...
Including food and water.
Make sure you have warm clothes and blankets in case the car breaks down.
Also be sure you have sand or kitty litter to de-ice the road... Or to give you traction if you be come stuck on a slick area.
having all these things safely stowed in your vehicle could make all the difference if you become stranded during a storm.
