Unfortunately, many of us deal with mowing the lawn year 'round. But the good news is that it probably is a constant reminder of how safe we all must be around lawn mowers.

When dealing with lawn care, be mindful of the safety features that new mowers are equipped with. One of those, says Rose Stock, a representative with Troy Bilt in Bonham, is a seat that must make connection with the mower in order to keep operating. Once you get up, the motor will shut off.

Many people are aware of the dangers of lawn mowers. When it comes to keeping your yard looking nice, just always make sure the kids and pets are kept at a safe distance. Never allow your child to mimic you mowing the lawn with his plastic lawn mower. Most importantly, never allow your child to sit with you while mowing your lawn on the riding mower.

The lawn must be mowed, but you must also follow just a few safety guidelines in order to keep you and your family safe. For more information on lawn mower safety, just visit the Injury Prevention Program at the link below.
