PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- One of the two accused cattle thieves is now behind bars at the Pontotoc County Justice Center.
David Wallace was arrested after a high speed chase through Coalgate Thursday night.
"We actually caught up with him as he was turning North on Highway 75, and of course we engaged our emergency equipment, and shut the vehicle down, and it was really to our surprise that David Wallace stepped out of the vehicle." said Jerry Flowers, Chief Agent with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry.
Flowers says the manhunt is still underway for the main suspect, Larry Smith Jr., who goes by "Snag."
Authorities say Snag and Wallace stole 99 head of cattle from Jet McCoy. McCoy, best known for his appearance with his brother on "The Amazing Race," says the thieves were stealing right under their noses.
"While we were in the process of looking for the cattle that had come up missing initially, there was some more that come up missing, and we were right there looking at them everyday, and we realized these cattle aren't getting out..there's something happening here," McCoy said.
Authorities have issued a warrant for Snag, and his bond will be set at half a million dollars.
McCoy says he's trying to bounce back from the loss of cattle, and is pleased at the quick response from authorities.
"It's nice to know they've caught one of them at least," McCoy said. "It makes you feel a little uneasy knowing that he's out there roaming around. This time it's our cattle, next time it may be someone else's so it's nice to know they caught him."
