(COLBERT, OKLAHOMA) -- A rollover accident in Colbert Sunday afternoon left one child dead, and three others injured.
The accident happened around 3:30 Sunday on Winet Road near State Highway 91 in Colbert. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says all four people in the car including the driver were young children.
According to OHP, a 10-year-old girl died Sunday afternoon after the SUV she was riding in crashed on Winnett Road in Colbert.
"We had four kids that were driving a vehicle north bound on a county road. They lost control of the vehicle, and it rolled approximately one and three quarter times," OHP Lt. Scott Hampton said.
When OHP arrived on scene, troopers say they were surprised that all four people in the car including the driver were children, none old enough to even have a driver's permit.
Troopers say the 13-year-old driver of the vehicle and a passenger were taken by ambulance to a local hospital, both in stable condition.
The passenger sitting in the front seat was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. The 10-year-old was pronounced dead on scene.
Hampton says none of the children were wearing seat belts.
"Our message in any one of these is seat belts absolutely save lives, and reducing your speed on county roads like these, seat belts play a huge factor on the survivability of accidents."'
Troopers are investigating whether high speeds caused the accident.
The names of the children haven't been released.
