9-10-04 - An historic building that collapsed almost two weeks ago in downtown Ardmore will be rebuilt with its original façade intact.
A wall collapsed at the building at the corner of “A” and Main Street last month – the second time it had suffered a wall collapse in two years. A structural engineer surveyed the damage and said the façade is sturdy enough to stand.
He says the first and second floors along with the roof act as a strong enough brace to keep the building from falling inward.
The city says they will keep that part of the intersection blocked off until the building is restored.
