COOKE COUNTY, Tex. -- Sheriff Mike Compton says the body of 51-year-old Lee Roy Reynolds was found lying about 100 feet from the road.

Reynolds' body was discovered around 2:30 pm Friday, just East of Gainesville, just West of Oak Ridge.

Authorities say they don't know how long Reynolds' body had been there, but they say they do not suspect foul play.

"The body will be sent to Dallas to find out exactly what he died from," said Cooke County Justice of the Peace Dorthy Lewis.

Officials say preliminary reports indicate Reynolds died of a pre-existing medical condition.

They tell us he recently had pneumonia, and he was under a doctor's care.

The Sheriff says his office is still investigating.

My heart goes out to the family; I am sorry for your loss. And I didn't intend to create more drama. The story didn't give any clue as to WHY/HOW he was on the side of the highway.

I know the man's sister, she found him. He was living in a trailer just off Hwy 82 and he had no car, only a motorcycle. He has been ill for sometime with cancer. Good Grief people... You guys even made more drama here - GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!

I just find it strange that he was on the side of the highway. Was he walking? Bless his heart if that is the case. Apparently he was really sick.

Anonymous, what is your point? Dying on foot isn't any more suspicious than dying with a car.
