GORDONVILLE, Tex.--The Gordonville Volunteer Fire Department received a sizable donation today from an eight-year-old boy. Roo Carpenter presented members of the department more than $400 he raised by selling raffle tickets.

We've told you about Roo before: in June the Whitesboro resident raised hundreds of dollars for the Sherwood Shores VFD as well.
Sunday Roo raffled off a turkey fryer, some golf balls, and a Wal-Mart gift card donated by local businesses.

"I had came up with the idea of a raffle when we were helping Sherwood Shores, then I heard they were doing a fundraiser over here so came over and did another raffle," Carpenter said.

The Gordonville fire chief says they plan to use the donation to help expand their fire station.

May the Lord bless this young man. With the giving spirit that this child has, says loads about his parents. He will grow into an adult that influence the lives of many.
