HUGO, OK - Water service has been restored in Hugo after officials with the City of Hugo Water Department say pumps at the city's water plant flooded last night.

The city clerk tells us they are now successfully pumping water to town now, but that because the tank was drained, a boil order will be in effect for the next twenty-four hours. The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality requires a boil order any time a town's water tank is drained.

Hugo Public Schools Superintendent Tony Daugherty says students were released early at 12:30 p.m. because of the town's water situation.

That boil order is in effect until 5 p.m. Friday.
