GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- Grayson County officials handed out some much needed funding for community organizations on Monday morning.
The money includes a three-year contract with Sherman, Denison, and Rural County Fire Departments. The Fire Chief Association will disperse the lump sum of $375,000 each year to the departments based on number of runs, population, and distance traveled.
Another $32,000 was given to non-profit agencies, including $5,000 to the Crisis Center.
"I never cease to be impressed and thrilled with the community outpouring support of what we do," the Center’s executive director, Kathy Crenshaw, said.
The Meals On Wheals program received $15,000, Frontier Village received $6,000, and over $6,000 will go to child welfare.
