Phone scam targets Ardmore seniors
ARDMORE, OK - Just in the last few days the Ardmore Police Department has received several calls regarding a phone scam targeting the elderly. The latest scam in Ardmore informs people if they do not comply with the request they could possibly stop receiving Social Security benefits.

ARDMORE, OK - Just in the last few days the Ardmore Police Department has received several calls regarding a phone scam targeting the elderly. The latest scam in Ardmore informs people if they do not comply with the request they could possibly stop receiving Social Security benefits.
Corporal Jason Qualls says this week an elderly woman received a phone call from someone asking for personal information like her Social Security number, date of birth and account information. Qualls says don't fall for something like this.
"Advise the caller that you will contact the person they are soliciting for and verify that they are getting this information, and if they are, they will give them that information at that time, " Qualls says.
Qualls says they are investigating who is behind these scams and says if something like this does happen to you to call your local authorities.
