GRAYSON CO., TX – The three day weekend starts Friday night for most Texomans with the Labor Day Holiday. But Texas Department of Safety is warning drivers that they won’t be taking any time off, and will have every trooper out on the roads.

They say Labor Day is always a busy weekend, as people try to get out and enjoy one last holiday of the summer. But that also means drivers are more likely to drive drunk, speed or have road rage.

"Unfortunately, with every holiday weekend in Texas there are going to be the few out there that want to drink and drive, they want to engage in road rage, they want to let their attitudes and emotions overcome them when they're operating a vehicle and that always leads to a crash,” said DPS Trooper Mark Tackett.

Troopers anticipate a higher number of accidents and tickets over the weekend. You're advised to drive with caution.
