Accident kills Ada man
PONTOTOC COUNTY, OKLAHOMA -- An Ada man was killed when his vehicle rand off the road and struck a utility pole just north of Ada in Pontotoc County. The accident happened at 6:20 p.m. Friday on a county road about a mile outside of town.

PONTOTOC COUNTY, OKLAHOMA -- An Ada man was killed when his vehicle rand off the road and struck a utility pole just north of Ada in Pontotoc County. The accident happened at 6:20 p.m. Friday on a county road about a mile outside of town.
Michael A. Marquand, 36, was eastbound when his 1998 Mercury Sable ran off the road then he over-corrected and running off the other side of the highway. The car struck a utility pole and overturned three times coming to rest on its wheels.
Marquand was thrown about 96 feet from the car. And was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say alcohol and speed contributed to the crash. They also say Marquand was not wearing a seatbelt.
