Counterfeit Cash in Ardmore

Video will be available shortly.

9-15-04 - Counterfeit money is circulating in Ardmore, and experts say other local communities could also be falling victim. The latest case was discovered at BancFirst, where a teller found two fake $100 bills. They’d been exchanged earlier at a BancFirst branch location.

It is the 6th case of ‘funny money’ being passed in Ardmore in the past three weeks. The bills have either been $100 or $20. Three of the smaller bills were passed at Ardmore's Hampton Inn last week.

Police are working with the Secret Service to try to find down the source of the fake bills.
Detectives believe some of the notes originated in north Texas.
