9-18-04- A man escaped from a burning truck along a county road in Southmayd Saturday afternoon. Authorities say the man lost control on the road and flipped his vehicle before it caught fire. He was able to crawl to safety and call for help.
The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. when the driver was traveling south on Hutchins Road just outside of Southmayd. Authorities say the driver was gdriving too fast and ran off the road. He is in stable condition at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center.
