Murder Suspect Arraigned - Family Speaks Out

9-22-04 - The family of a man accused in a racially charged hit and run in Pontotoc County turned out in full force at his arraignment Wednesday.

Pontotoc County authorities arraigned Amman Reich of Konowa on charges of 1st degree murder, along with 9 counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Reich is accused of running a pickup truck full of college students off the road following an altercation at a party near the Canadian River Bridge on state highway 99 early Sunday morning.

He entered a plea of not guilty. Dozens of family and friends stood outside the courtroom to show their support. They also issued a statement through an attorney saying Reich was not a murderer.
