Firsthand look at firefighter memorial

An update to a story we brought you earlier this week. Denison firefighter Phillip Townsend was honored Sunday at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Townsend was killed in December of 2006 fighting a structure fire. Wednesday his family shared with us a firsthand look at the tribute. President Bush consoled members of Townsend's family, captured in several photos.

Each family of a fallen firefighter was given an American flag, a medal, and keepsake book. They walked down a path lined with honor guard, called the “Walk of Honor.”

Townsend's name was also added to a memorial, along with 90 other fallen firefighters. Family members declined to speak on it an incredibly moving event.
