9-28-04 - For the second time in one month, Bryan County authorities have had to arrest their one of their jailers. Jail administrators say Vester Allen came to work intoxicated early this morning. Within two hours, co-workers noticed he was slurring his words and smelled of alcohol.

Allen had only been a jailer for two weeks. He was part of a training program with the Choctaw Nation that is paid through federal grants.

Allen was arrested for public intoxication this morning and immediately fired.

The termination comes less than three weeks after another jailer was charged with 2nd degree rape.
