FBI Investigating ECU Death

ADA, Okla. (AP) - The FBI is investigating whether the death of an East Central University football player was a hate crime. Special Agent Gary Johnson of the F-B-I says the agency will present the facts to the Department of Justice when the investigation is complete. Johnson says authorities in Washington, DC, will decide if the case gets prosecuted.

Joseph Tusan died September 19th when he was thrown from a
pickup truck bed in a hit-and-run incident. Others were injured,
including a Dallas student who suffered a broken neck.

Amman Dean Reich is charged with one count of first-degree
murder and nine counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Tusan, an 18-year-old freshman defensive back from Arlington,
Texas, was black. Reich is white.
