SHERMAN, Tex. -- Some city workers got a much needed break, and a free lunch on Thursday, courtesy of the United Way.
The reason for the lunch was to show appreciation for the all the city has done over the past few years, and city leaders agree it’s great to show the workers how much they are valued.
"We always try to show our employees how much we appreciate them, but when it’s someone outside who comes in and gives credit that's due, its so much appreciated,” said Sherman city manager George Olson.
"Their efforts, their daily labor, are what keeps this city running," the United Way’s David Cortinas added.
The United Way wants to continue working with the city for a better community.
