More than 10,000 people gathered in Norman Thursday to thank members of the Oklahoma National Guard.
The 2,400 guardsmen and women are with the 45th Infantry brigade, and will soon be deployed to Iraq.
At today's deployment ceremony, Governor Brad Henry and other state officials praised the soldiers, saying the Oklahoma Guard has a legacy of service and professionalism.
This is the largest deployment of Oklahoma National Guard since the Korean War.
