10-04-04 - UNDATED (AP) The deadline to register to vote in the November election is Monday for Texans and Friday for those in Oklahoma. Registration is available at the county election boards, post offices, tag agencies or libraries.

Mail-in voter registration applications must also be postmarked by the deadline date.

Across the country, the final push is on to register voters ahead of tonight's deadline in a handful of states.

Democrats and Republicans are focusing on the swing states of Ohio and Florida where residents have until midnight to register.

President Bush's top adviser says they're "throwing every resource at it" in Florida, where more than 400,000 new voters signed up between February and August.

Meanwhile, election officials in Ohio say they've never seen a rush like this before. One county alone is processing nearly 100,000 new forms.

Democrat John Kerry has accused Republicans of trying to make it harder for people to register in swing states. The Bush campaign says that accusation has "no basis in reality."
