Choctaw County's sheriff says four inmates have been treated for minor injuries after an incident at the county jail late last week.

Sheriff Lewis Collins says the four claim they were beaten on Thursday.

Collins says a deputy was called to the jail after unruly inmates had flooded the facility, but exact details of what happened next are not being released due to an investigation.

One deputy was placed on leave until authorities are finished looking into the incident. OSBI is handling that investigation.

First of all, if the dumb prisoners would've listened, they wouldn't be this way! Second of all- They were warned numerous times, so they should've just done it! A cop is not going to go out and beat a prisoner just for the joy of it, especially not this one! It is retards like these that get in these situations, that ruin the careers of cops, even if they weren't the ones that arrested them!

ever been in a holding facility when inmates are out of control, its one on one you either take a beating or get things under control, cops don't get made enough as it is to deal with these people, put on a badge and do whats expected of you, before you start putting a cop in jail for doing his job.

HEY NURSE FROM MCKINNEY. BEING AGGRESSIVE IN THIS CASE WAS NEEDED. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO GET A JAIL FULL OF CONVICTS TO DO WHAT THEY ARE TOLD WHEN THEY ARE NOT OBEYING YOUR VERBAL COMMANDS. YOU PUT YOUR HANDS ON THEM. CHOCTAW COUNTY JUST NEEDS A SHERIFF THAT HAS A SET.

Hey, in collin co. our onsite dentist used to just stitch up the inmates when they got out of hand and were "injured" in a takedown. Aggressive behavior does come from officers. Happens ALL the time.

WHEN A JAIL IS OUT OF CONTROL IT PROBABLY MEANS THAT THE INMATES ARE NOT DOING WHAT THEY ARE TOLD. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO HANDLE A JAIL FULL OF CONVICTS THAT HAVE ALREADY FAILED TO LISTEN TO VERBAL COMMANDS? THE NEXT STEP IS HANDS ON AND IF THE CONVICTS WANT TO FIGHT BACK THEN THATS THERE PROBLEM. DONT BE DOWN ON A DEPUTY FOR DOING HIS JOB. IF SHERIFF COLLINS HAD A BACK BONE THEN HE WOULD STAND UP FOR HIS PEOPLE AND NOT LEAVE THEM OUT TO DRY!!!!!

Not all people that go to jail are bad people, nor do they deserve to get beat. From personal experience you get into a situation where you have to defend yourself. It's not about acting right in there. It's about defending yourself. Any anyboby would if felt like you were in harms way. As for the officers, if the circumstances require you to defend yourself then so be it,but dont beat someone just because they come to jail and you dont like them or their charges. you arent the judge of anything. Innocent til proven guilty, right?
