10-12-04 - A man who's been helping people for years has found himself in need of help. Hugh Stone’s house in Celina burned to the ground on Sunday. But it was more than just his home of 70 years, but also the base of operations for his food bank.

The 84-year-old had been running the food bank for the past 12 years, at times foregoing his own health just to feed those in need.

He wasn’t home at the time of the fire and authorities still aren’t sure what caused it. But since word spread of what happened, there has been a tremendous outpouring of support. On Monday, a stranger donated $1,000 to Stone.

If you’d like to help, a fund has been set up at the First State Bank in Celina. You can reach them at (972) 382-2351.
