Hunting Accident Leads to Arrest

11-25-04 - One night after a man was shot to death in Pushmataha County during a hunting trip, another man is facing some serious charges.

51-year-old Tryon Lee Thain of McCurtain County was deer hunting near highway 271 just north of Antlers, when he was shot and killed by a high-powered rifle Wednesday around 6pm. The man he was hunting with is now being held on pending charges of manslaughter and hunting violations.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is still looking into the matter, but believes the shooting was accidental.
