Former Cop Heading to Prison

Video will be available shortly.

10-14-04 - A former police officer in Calera, Oklahoma is heading to prison after pleading no-contest to a dozen felony charges involving sexual abuse against minors and possessing child pornography.

Bryan County authorities arrested Richard Dillingham in June after a co-worker in a Durant business found child pornography on a work computer. Just a few months before, Dillingham had been a full-time officer in Calera, and was still working as a reserve officer. Investigators soon found he’d committed several crimes with teenage boys dating back to the 1990’s.

This week he agreed to a no-contest blind plea, which waived his right for a trial. A judge sentenced him to 15 years in prison for each of the charges, which included 1st degree rape, lewd molestation, five counts of forcible sodomy and five counts of possessing child pornography.

The sentences will be served concurrently, but Dillingham will have to serve 85 percent of his sentence before he's eligible for parole.
