Recruiting Minority Teachers

Video will be available shortly.

10-14-04 - The Ardmore school district is hoping to recruit more minority teachers, and they’re asking the public for help.

The district’s minority student population has grown over the past decade while the number of minority teachers has declined. To help build diversified classrooms, district leaders have put together a committee of 12 people from all over Ardmore.

That committee will look at different ways to recruit minority teachers into the system, including the option of bonus payments to teachers who sign on. They hope to have additional teachers in place by next fall.
