Schools Prepare For Flu Bug

10-19-04 – With most districts unable to vaccinate their employees, school officials are making sure they are ready for flu-related absences. They fear a rash of teacher and student absenteeism could force schools to shut down.

Administrators in Ardmore say parent groups would step in if substitute lists were exhausted, while id Durant, they are simply emphasizing hygiene at home and in the classroom.

Gainesville schools acted quickly; vaccinating all 245 of their teachers a week before the shortage was announced.

Austin College Commencement Celebration Nearing
