Community Specialty Hospital Pharmacy closing

SHERMAN, Tex. -- It looks like Community Specialty Hospital's pharmacy is closing it's doors.

A note is posted on the door of the facility reading:
"Community Specialty Hospital Pharmacy will be closing at the end of the business day, November 9, 2007."

While there's no mention of the hospital itself closing, the receptionist said all patients were discharged Thursday, but hospital administrators should be there Friday.

Our calls to the hospital CEO were not returned, but a press conference is scheduled for Friday afternoon.

I agree that in this community of Sherman, none had stepped up to save CSH. We need an inpatient Rehab in this community and this facility was a great loss.

I just wanted to say Thank You to Travis Roderick and Janis Thompson. They have fought so very hard to find a way to save the hospital. They as well as the other staff members are the victims of Senior Health Inc. Travis and Janis have put their personal lives and family time on hold to try and save the jobs and the hospital that Sherman so desperately needs. What is sad is that noone in our community has stepped forward to try and help! People have criticized the fact that the hospital could not service children. They dont realize that it is a specialty hospital. They are responsible for the follow up care that patients need. Now it might be your parent who needs nursing care after surgery or illness. You will now have to take off from work to care for them because the quality nursing staff at Community Specialty Care Center is not there to take care them. So once again, Thanks to all of the Community Specialty Staff! Good Luck and God Bless You all!
