Calera voters say yes to sales tax increase

CALERA, OK -- The election called for a 1/2 cent sales tax increase and an overwhelming 72% of voters approved the measure Tuesday night.

The increase will fund street and traffic signal improvements in the city, including a planned traffic light on U.S. Highway 69/75.

Sulphur bond passes by super majority

SULPHUR, OK -- An estimated 67% of voters in the Sulphur school district approved a school bond referendum worth more than $2.6 million Tuesday.

Mill Creek sales tax passes by 1 vote

MILL CREEK, OK -- A half-cent sales tax increase passed by just one vote Tuesday night. The increase will help fund the Mill Creek Police Department.

AGAINST 27 votes (49%)

Millerton voters approve sales tax

MILLERTON, OK -- Voters in the West McCurtain County town of Millerton approved a 1% sales tax increase Tuesday.

Healdton bonds pass easily

HEALDTON, OK -- Two school bonds were approved by voters. Both garnered more than the super majority needed Tuesday. One bond funds planned renovations to the school auditorium. Another allows money for new school buses.
