Denison Family Mourns Soldier's Death

Video will be available shortly.

12-06-04 – A soldier with Denison ties was killed in Iraq Saturday. Sgt. Luke Boatright was scheduled to return home in just two months but was killed by a roadside bomb. The 24-year-old leaves behind a wife and three children.

Boatright attended Frisco High School, but also spent time in Denison where his father Mike still lives and works.

He joined the military in 1999 and had been in Iraq since February. He was a member of the Army’s 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood and had recently been promoted to sergeant.

Services for Boatright will be held in Frisco sometime next week. He will be buried with full military honors.
